Disney Imagination Campus | Science & Technology
Disney Imagination Campus, our Science & Technology curriculum offers the best of high-tech, low-tech, multidisciplinary, and experiential learning opportunities that teach students to become both creative and critical thinkers. Students will learn from Disney Imagineering – one of the world’s most creative organizations – how science and technology are used to create your favorite attractions like Space Mountain and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Here, students will see science come to life through the work of Disney Imagineering. They’ll get to interact directly with these Disney professionals to find out how they come up with their ideas, how they make them, and how their success is the result of the relentless pursuit of, “What if?”. Through this interaction with Disney professionals and empowered by our fully integrated curriculum, they’ll experience personal growth and professional insights that only Disney can provide.
Physics of Disney Parks
Disney Imagineers are living proof that creativity and science are integral partners. In this interactive course, students’ curiosity is sparked by stepping into the shoes of Disney Imagineers as they explore how physics is applied to every element of the theme park experience. Here, students work in teams to investigate the role that properties such as Newton’s Laws of Motion, potential & kinetic energy, gravity, and more, play in the design and operation of popular theme park attractions.
The technology of Disney Parks
Storytelling is at the very heart of everything we do at Disney and technology has played a major role in how we are able to tell those stories.
Central to each attraction and themed land within Disney Parks is a story, and through innovative technology, we are able to tell those stories in new and exciting ways. In this engaging, interactive course, students will work in groups while getting an inside look at how our Disney Imagineers dream, design, and use technology to enhance the Guest experience by immersing them in our stories. From audio-animatronics to light and sound effects, students will learn why technology is the most valuable and most challenging tool to integrate into daily theme park operations.
